R&D MECHANICAL DESIGN ENGINEER

In your role as R&D Mechanical Design Engineer you will be involved in all the different phases of a new product development, starting from product marketing requirements analysis, design choices, solutions prototyping, product validation, Bill of Material management, suppliers management. Your accountability includes working on projects to address quality improvement and cost reduction.
What You’ll Do:
- Analyze of requests of new products launches and management of existing projects in production.
- Design the new mechanical components and product modifications.
- Manage all the documentation and project development with PLM.
- Manage and release the product’s Bill Of Materials in SAP and the technical documentation.
- Support the construction of prototypes and the process of product industrialization.
- Manage costs, quality and timing of maintenance projects.
- Participate in the different phases of production and validation of prototypes until production launch.
- Collaborate with other company functions such as quality, industrialization and production. Contact with various suppliers.
- Interact with the laboratory as part of the product approval.
- Maintain and change existing products in order to enlarge the products range, to reach cost saving and quality improvement.
What We're Looking For:
- Master degree in mechanical engineering.
- 2 years of experience in mechanical and/or industrial design engineering.
- Strong skills in 2D and 3D SolidWorks tool.
- Proficiency in technical drawing according to official standards (compliance with tolerance dimensioning rules, representation of welds on drawings, etc.).
- Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing techniques and materials like welding, sheet metal bending and machining techniques.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Able to manage multidisciplinary technical projects through to manufacturing.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, continuous improvement attitude and a practical approach
- Experience using an ERP (SAP, etc.) is an asset.
- Fluent in English and French.
- Availability to travel on a regular base.
