As a Mechanical R&D Design Engineer, you will play an active role in the development of new products and the maintenance and continuous improvement of the existing product range.
In this position, you will act as the local R&D reference within the Chartres manufacturing site, providing support and serving as a key link between the central R&D organization and the local product development activities. You will be involved throughout the entire product development lifecycle, from design decisions and prototype development to product validation, Bill of Materials (BOM) management, and supplier coordination. Additionally, you will contribute to projects focused on quality improvement and cost reduction initiatives.

What You Will Do
- Support new product development activities as well as product maintenance projects for products currently in production.
- Design new mechanical components and implement modifications to existing products.
- Manage project documentation and product development activities through the PLM system.
- Create, maintain, and release product Bills of Materials (BOMs) in SAP, along with the related technical documentation.
- Support prototype manufacturing and product industrialization activities.
- Act as the technical reference throughout prototype production and validation phases, supporting the transition to serial production.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including Quality, Industrialization, and Manufacturing, while maintaining regular interaction with suppliers.
- Work closely with laboratory team during product testing and approval processes.
- Actively contribute to product range improvements by identifying opportunities for cost reduction and quality enhancement.

What We Are Looking For
- Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
- A solid 3-5 years of experience in mechanical and/or industrial design.
- Strong knowledge of 2D and 3D CAD design tools; experience with SolidWorks is a plus
- Solid understanding of technical drawing standards and engineering documentation, including GD&T, welding symbols, and manufacturing drawings.
- Familiarity with mechanical manufacturing techniques and processes such as welding, sheet metal forming, and machining; experience within the HVAC industry is considered an advantage.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to manage multidisciplinary technical projects through to the production phase.
- Proactive and entrepreneurial mindset, with a strong focus on continuous improvement and a hands-on approach.
- Experience with ERP systems (SAP or equivalent) and PLM tools is a plus.
- Fluent in English and French; knowledge of Italian is considered a plus.
- Willingness to travel.
