MATERIAL PLANNING MANAGEMENT

As part of the Production team, the Material and Logistics Manager is responsible for the effective implementation and driving of the inventory management best practices. This includes managing inventory control, warehouse, distribution, replenishment plans and ongoing supplier relationships.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•   Manage all inbound materials to avoid production interruptions, stock-outs, and schedule changes.Â
•   Work closely with hourly production employees to make sure materials are where they should be and move as required.Â
•   Implement rigorous cycle counting and enforce accurate bin locations to eliminate year-end counts with systematic and accurate inventory counts.Â
•   Work with in-house and corporate purchasing and place purchase orders and order parts when necessary.Â
•   Utilize the full supply chain to reduce raw material overall, while decreasing stockoutsÂ
•   Develop, implement, and monitor performance metrics for transportation, shipping, and receiving.Â
•   Work within our ERP to see problems before they arise and act accordingly.Â
•   Manage suppliers to reduce late shipments, missing components, pricing errors, etc.Â
•   Schedule usage of production materials to ensure optimal production levels while coordinating production workflow for three production lines.
•   Planning and prioritizing operations, determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
•   Produce reports based on findings and performance of production.
•   Identify and resolve problems relating to inventory and material supply flow.Â
•   Using market forecasts, customer orders, and competitive analysis to anticipate necessary production changes.
•   Coordinating with other departments to ensure the timely receipt, delivery, and transaction of goods.

TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
•   Post-secondary education within Engineering, Accounting, or Supply ChainÂ
•   Previous experience using SAP is considered an asset.Â
•   Previous knowledge and experience in manufacturing, logistics, and/or supply chain managementÂ
•   Knowledge of operations, warehouse management, and inventory controlÂ
•   Solid project management and decision-making skillsÂ
•   Analysis and data management skillsÂ
•   Good organizational, time management and attention to details
•   Six Sigma Training and workplace exposure are assets.Â
