We are looking for an Accounting Leader to be part of the Finance Team in our Saint John, NB office. This role will oversee 2 people, the Credit Coordinator and the Account Receivable Specialist, and will report directly to the Finance Director. 

 

Main responsibilities:

  • Dealing with Accounting Functions, must manage General Ledger supporting the Local AFC in Treasury, Fixed Assets, Tax, Inter-Company as well as Project Mgmt.
  • Month-End Financial Closings and Financial Reporting to be performed (SAP and ORACLE).
  • Familiar with local tax regulations and compliance obligations
  • Assist Local AFC to timely and accurately complete the review and validation of the Monthly Reporting package (Canada GAAP/IFRS) for the companies in scope.
  • Assure accounting processes to be streamlined.
  • Provide statutory (yearly financial statements) and tax reporting as requested by local authorities.
  • Provide data and prepares reports, analysis, and reviews for internal/external stakeholders.
  • Participate to Internal Audits engagements and interact with External Auditors.
  • Develop and maintain the Company's Reporting Process Policies and ensures compliance with generally accepted reporting standards and timing respect.

 

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in economics (e.g. Business Management, Accountancy) and also:

  • Familiar with Local GAAP and International Accounting Standards and IFRS.
  • Previous experience in manufacturing companies.
  • At least 5 years of experience in similar roles.
  • At least 3 years in a Big 4 - Assurance or Transactions & Deal
  • Chartered Accountant
  • Strong English communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Knowledgeable on Canadian Accounting / IFRS and Financial requirements and a good understanding of local tax regulations
  • The knowledge of SAP (modules FI, CO, AA, MM)
  • Oracle FCCS Consolidation module
  • Proficiency in Ms Excel, PowerPoint
