The Incoming Material Warehouse Team Leader is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the raw material warehouse, ensuring efficient receipt, storage, and issuance of materials used in boiler production. This role ensures compliance with safety standards, inventory accuracy, and timely material availability to support uninterrupted manufacturing processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of warehouse staff handling raw materials (e.g., steel sheets, pipes, insulation, fittings).
- Ensure accurate receiving, labeling, and storage of incoming raw materials.
- Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with planning and procurement teams to maintain optimal stock.
- Oversee material picking and issuing processes to production lines based on production schedules.
- Maintain warehouse layout and ensure proper storage conditions for different material types.
- Implement and enforce safety procedures and housekeeping standards in the warehouse.
- Conduct regular cycle counts and support full inventory audits.
- Use warehouse management systems (WMS) or ERP tools to track material movements and stock levels.
- Organizes the work of his team based on skills, training levels and production needs.
- Train and mentor warehouse staff, ensuring adherence to operational procedures.
- Coordinate with quality control for incoming material inspections and non-conformance handling.
- Operating internal transport equipment, forklifts, and lifting platforms.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or technical degree; additional training in logistics or warehouse management is a plus.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in warehouse operations, preferably in a manufacturing or metal industry environment.
- Proven experience in team leadership or supervisory roles.
- Familiarity with raw materials used in metal fabrication or boiler production.
- Proficiency in using ERP or WMS systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle).
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Forklift license and knowledge of safe material handling practices.
Preferred Skills:
- Experience in lean warehousing or 5S implementation.
- Basic understanding of production planning and supply chain processes.
- Ability to read technical drawings or material specifications.
