MATERIAL HANDLER - FORK LIFT OPERATOR

Ariston USA is searching for a Material Handler/Fork Lift Operator in our New Bedford, MA warehouse. The primary duties are as follows:
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES:
Ability to work in a team environment picking orders, putting material away, loading, and unloading trucks, and other functions associates with the manufacturing operation to ensure accurate and timely shipments to external and internal customers.
Successful candidates must be willing to perform efficiently and be able to multi-task at the highest level at all times to ensure the overall success of the department and organization.
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
The following is a brief description of some of the duties and responsibilities but is not limited to:
- Work within a fast paced, production oriented, safe environment.
- Capable of lifting up to 60 lbs. with the ability to ask for assistance when required.
- Ability to properly use power industrial material handling equipment i.e., reach truck, forklift, and pallet jacks. Must pass any required certification or training programs.
- Communicates with associates and superiors to maintain safety and quality.
- Willingness to follow the direction of the Manager and/or Team Lead.
- Suggests production and quality improvement ideas to the Manager and/or Team Lead.
- Perform daily activities using various computer programs i.e., SAP, Wip Tracker, Microsoft Excel, Bartender, BFI, Radio Frequency Scanners.
- Responsible for housekeeping in assigned work areas.
- Respond to customers internal/external in a timely fashion.
- Accepts other responsibilities as requested by the Manager and/or Team Lead.
TECHNICAL EXPERTISE:
The following is a brief description of the technical expertise duties but is not limited to:
- Good communication and telephone skills are required.
- Use of Power Industrial Equipment.
- Excellent basic math skills.
- Able to perform daily tasks with minimal supervision.

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Ability to work a flexible work schedule as required.
- Ability to communicate and interact effectively in all situations.
- Minimum (2) years’ experience working in a manufacturing environment.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:
- Language Skills – Ability to speak, read and write in English.
- Reasoning Ability – Ability to define problems and present solutions, self-starter/initiator.
- Physical Demands – Ability to reach and use arms, hands and fingers. Ability to hear and smell.
- Weight Limitations – Ability to lift 60 lbs.
- Vision Requirements – Close and distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception; and ability to adjust focus.
- Work Environment – Moderate Noise Conditions. Work in areas that may be noisy and dirty. Work in ambient temperatures ranging from very cold to very hot.
- Personal, Protective Equipment - Ability to wear safety glasses, gloves, and other job related personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
- Work Schedule - Work various shifts and overtime as needed.
