Reporting directly to the Product Development Manager, you will lead the design and development of new components and assemblies, driving projects across the full product lifecycle.Â
You will play a key role in driving technical excellence and ensuring projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the design and development of components (e.g., plastic and metal parts) and complex assemblies, ensuring performance, manufacturability, and cost-efficiency
- Own the end-to-end product development lifecycle, from concept and feasibility studies to industrialization and release
- Use advanced parametric design tools (e.g., SolidWorks) to create and validate 2D/3D models, simulations, and technical documentation
- Manage and optimize Bills of Materials (BOM), ensuring accuracy, cost control, and alignment with project requirements
- Apply in-depth knowledge of industrial manufacturing processes (e.g., injection molding, machining, assembly) to drive design-for-manufacturing (DFM) and design-for-assembly (DFA) principles
- Collaborate with internal project stakeholders (e.g., R&D, laboratory, quality, product management, operations) to ensure alignment on project objectives and milestones
- Lead technical interactions with suppliers, including co-design activities, feasibility assessments, and issue resolution
- Ensure compliance with company standards, technical specifications, and regulatory requirements
Your Profile
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 5–10 years of experience in mechanical design and product development, preferably in an industrial/manufacturing environment.
- Strong expertise in mechanical design, materials, and manufacturing processes
- Proven experience with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks) and product data management systems
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects, prioritize activities, and meet deadlines with a high degree of autonomy
- Strong problem-solving mindset with a structured and analytical approach
- Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
- Proactive , results-driven, and able to thrive in a dynamic environment
- Proficiency in Italian and English is a must
