For our subsidiary in Morocco, we are looking for a:

Generalist Senior Accountant

 

The Generalist Senior Accountant performs a wide range of accounting activities and collaborates in the preparation of statutory Financial Statements and the management reporting package. This role reports directly to the Administration & Accounting Cluster Director for MEA, Israel, and Australia, and, on a dotted line basis,  to the Managing Director of the company.

 

The scope of work includes (but is not limited to):

  • Supporting on management of accounting functions, including General Ledger, Accounts Payable and Receivable, Inter-Company transactions, and Project/Assets accounting.
  • Performing month-end closings and assisting in the preparation of Financial Statements in accordance with Local GAAP and IAS/IFRS.
  • Providing data and preparing reports, analyses, and reviews for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Reconciliation of P&L Accounts
  • Explanation of P&L Variances
  • Spending control of CAPEX
  • Controlling personnel costs and reconciling with the Ariston Corporate HR Department.
  • Ensuring adherence to internal procedures and policies.
  • Participating in internal audit engagements and interacting with external auditors.
  • Liaising with the local bank and preparing cash flow reports for local management and the Ariston Corporate Treasury Department.
  • Supporting the external consultant with tax computations (Direct, Indirect, and Deferred) and fulfilling local tax obligations.
  • Assisting the Ariston Corporate Legal Department with basic tasks and liaising with local legal consultant firms.

 

In this role, you will navigate the complexities of a lean organization, requiring you to manage multiple responsibilities, for which a strong technical accounting expertise will be essential. You will interact with colleagues and stakeholders across various countries, requiring you to adeptly handle diverse cultural backgrounds, languages, and time zones.

We are seeking a candidate who has:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting
  • Experience with a 'Big 4' accounting firm
  • 3-4 years of proven experience in accounting, tax, and reporting
  • Deep knowledge of local GAAP and a strong understanding of local tax and regulatory systems
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • A team player attitude with a hands-on mentality
  • An accurate working method and strong organizational skills to meet deadlines
  • Proficiency in SAGE (or similar ERP software) and Microsoft Office
  • Fluency in English, with excellent written and verbal communication skills


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Chartered Accountant certification
  • Familiarity with SAP
  • Good knowledge of IAS/IFRS
