Job description

  • Collaborate with R&D teams to prioritize supplier development needs by component to improve cost competitiveness or supply constraints.
  • Support supplier selection through robust qualification processes and based on screening, prioritize preferred suppliers.
  • Assess new and existing supplier capabilities to meet product, cost, quality, capacity and fulfillment.
  • Ensuring suppliers are able to meet requirements for performance, quality, cost and delivery of components and requirements for ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and other applicable system and reputation requirements.
  • Develop positive relationships and work closely with buyer to manage, implement and track supplier/engineering design changes, capacity studies and New Product Introductions, and transfers.
  • Specify, develop, and validate advanced technology, quality information and test equipment.
  • Specify and develop product acceptance/test procedures that relate to a complex process (state-of-the-art) or highly complex product.
  • Provide technical expertise and leadership to sourcing and development of suppliers with respect to technology, performance, quality, cost, logistics and delivery.
  • Provide leadership during investigations of major problems and or special projects focusing on developing working relationships with suppliers and the supply chain with regard to product development and procurement of parts.
  • Responsible for driving supplier component development and approval though Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), supplier interaction and support cost reduction activity.
  • Perform new supplier validation audits.
  • Ensure component’s key milestones are achieved during new product development.
  • Work with Engineering (Design and Manufacturing Engineers) team to define criteria to ensure supplier process capability is effective to meet product and process requirements (8 stage incoming material).
  • Contribute to continuous improvement activities.
  • Prepare reports and present progress of components qualification at project meetings.
  • Meet target ensuring respect of assigned budgets.
  • Implement and contribute to Lesson Learnt taking advantage of experience during development.
  • Be curious and focus on personal continuous development.

 

Job requirements

  • Master’s Degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, Physics, Materials or Chemical.
  • Substantial experience in a high volume manufacturing environment, preferably automotive.
  • Substantial experience in supplier quality management or related quality management more than 5 years.
  • Experience of dealing with suppliers.
  • Business English knowledge.
  • Ability to manage time and consistently meet deadlines.
  • Problem solving and team working.
  • Availability to travel (30% of time).
  • Experience in Sourcing, Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing and program management.
  • Experience in developing and implementing vendor qualification.
  • Knowledge of quality and business systems.
  • Knowledge of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), Knowledge of Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA).
  • Ability to present data effectively and good presentation skills.
  • Understanding and interpretation of engineering drawings.
  • Understanding manufacturing processes.
  • Ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
