We are seeking an experienced and results-driven Senior Manufacturing Engineer – Welding & Press Shop to join our manufacturing leadership team. This is an exceptional opportunity for a hands-on engineering professional who is passionate about operational excellence, process optimization, and leading high-performing production teams.
In this role, you will be responsible for driving performance across our Welding and Press Shop operations, ensuring world-class standards in safety, quality, productivity, and continuous improvement. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES


Manufacturing & Operations Leadership

  • Lead Welding and Press Shop operations to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly production targets.
  • Ensure optimal utilization of manpower, machinery, tooling, and production resources.
  • Monitor operational performance through KPIs and implement corrective actions to achieve business objectives.
  • Drive improvements in productivity, efficiency, throughput, and cost reduction.

 

Welding & Press Shop Engineering

  • Provide technical leadership for welding and metal forming operations.
  • Oversee setup, maintenance, and optimization of dies, tooling, welding fixtures, and production equipment.
  • Ensure proper setup and control of welding parameters, including voltage, current, and shielding gas flow.
  • Drive improvements in changeover times, equipment reliability, and operational efficiency.
  • Lead troubleshooting and root cause analysis for process, equipment, and quality issues.
  • Supervise metal forming and deep-drawing processes, ensuring tooling performance, lubrication effectiveness, and preventive die maintenance programs.

 

Quality & Continuous Improvement

  • Partner with Quality teams to ensure compliance with manufacturing and customer quality standards.
  • Analyze defects, scrap, and process variations to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Lead Lean Manufacturing, Kaizen, 5S, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Implement corrective and preventive actions to improve product quality and process stability.

 

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Work closely with Planning, Maintenance, Quality, Engineering, Supply Chain, and R&D teams.
  • Support new product introductions and process development activities.
  • Ensure equipment readiness and availability through effective maintenance coordination.

 

Safety Leadership

  • Champion a strong safety culture across all manufacturing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational health, safety, and environmental standards.
  • Identify risks and implement proactive measures to prevent incidents and injuries.

 

Team Development

  • Lead, coach, and develop supervisors and technical personnel.
  • Build technical capability across the organization through mentoring and skills development.
  • Support succession planning and talent development initiatives.

 

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.

 

Experience

  • 5-8 years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume production environment.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience managing or supporting Welding and Press Shop operations.
  • Experience within metal fabrication, automotive, home appliance, or industrial manufacturing.

 

Technical Expertise

  • Strong knowledge of welding technologies and metal forming processes.
  • Experience with press shop operations, deep drawing, tooling, and die maintenance.
  • Understanding of hydraulic and pneumatic systems associated with power presses and automated welding equipment.
  • Ability to interpret and modify engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical documentation.
  • Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma methodologies, 5S, Kaizen, and continuous improvement practices.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience monitoring and improving manufacturing KPIs.
